2020 SCORRA Board of Directors

Brad Obee - President

Role: The President provides leadership and direction to all activities of the Association, the Executive Board and all standing and ad hoc committees.

This includes:
  • Presiding over all meetings of the Executive Board of Directors.
  • Providing an annual report to the membership, at the Annual General meeting, regarding the prior years year’s activities.
  • Overseeing the governance of the organization and ensuring that the
  • organizations Bylaws & Constitution are followed
  • Providing managerial direction on the primary functions of the organization and the activities of the executive board

SCORRA History: Brad has been a SCORRA member since 2006 when the club was founded. Looking to become more involved in the sport and the club he joined the Board as Treasurer in 2008, and has been serving as Club President for the past 9 years.
Nickname: Obee-Wan Kenobe
Biography: Brad's current ride is a 2017 KTM 300XCW. He caught dirt bike fever late in life and hasn't looked back since. In 2006 he bought his son a dirt bike for Christmas, and promptly bought himself a DT200 so they could ride together. Having just turned 50 he's still able to keep ahead of his son but not for long. His favorite ride is the Midhurst Trial Ride which he has chaired since 2012, and one day hopes to actually be able to ride the event. For some unknown reason, Brad has a phobia about trilliums! Brad is the recipient of the 2018 "Razzie Award" for his exceptional talents in bench pressing his KTM.



Brian Dueck - Vice-President & OFTR Representative

Role: The Vice-President's role includes:
  • Providing advice, counsel and support to the president
  • In the event of the President’s is unavailable or unable to perform their duties, assuming on an interim basis the duties of the president.
The OFTR Board Representative duties include:
  • Liasing with the OFTR
  • Attending OFTR meetings as the SCORRA representative
  • Presenting SCORRA issues, concerns and wishes to the OFTR in an official capacity
  • Communicate OFTR goals, directions and plans back to the SCORRA Board

SCORRA History: Brian first joined SCORRA as a member in 2010 and became progressively more involved in club events, volunteering, and served on the SCORRA board from 2013 to 2016. Brian rejoined the board for 2020 as SCORRA Vice President and OFTR rep. Those of you that ride the Midhurst Trail Ride too slowly may also be acquainted with Brian as he traditionally leads the sweep crew for the event.
Nickname: Evil Brian
Biography: Motorcycles, dogs, and software are the strange brew that afflict Brian's interests. Brian has been fascinated by motorcycles since he was a boy, and spent many formative summers on vacation in Saskatchewan ripping around the countryside on his cousin's dirt bikes. That feeling of freedom and the taste adventure that only comes from riding motorcycles has been a siren song in Brian's life and has enabled him to explore many parts of Canada and other parts of the world that are best enjoyed on two wheels with an engine. Beyond the riding, SCORRA has made a big difference in Brian's life including meeting some of his very best friends - so giving back to SCORRA by volunteering and supporting the club seems only natural. If you see Brian at a SCORRA staging area be sure to wander over to say "Hi" - he's always happy to talk to fellow members and listen to feedback on how to make the club better.



Alan Young - Director of Communications, Sponsor Liason & Secretary

Role: The Secretary serves as the scribe for Association meetings and custodian of its records. The Secretary's duties includes:
  • Recording and distributing agenda’s for and minutes of the Executive Board’s meetings
  • Maintaining the Articles of Incorporation, Constitution, By-Laws, and Policies and Procedures of the Association
As Director of Communications, Alan is responsible for:
  • Online and Social Media Channels, including web site, Forum, Facebook, Twitter, Newsletters and other channels
  • Membership Management and interface with the OFTR Membership System
Alan also is heading up our Sponsorship Program:
  • Sponsor Liason
  • Management of Sponsorship Program

SCORRA History: Alan has been a SCORRA member for a few years now. This is his third year on the SCORRA Board. Alan has been instrumental in improving SCORRA's Sponsorship Program.
Nickname: Crash
Biography: Alan is 57 years young and is currently riding a Husqvarna FE 250. He tries to spend as much time as he can out on the trails and is always looking for that one special tree that he can crash in to. Alan's was the recipient of the 2017 "Razzie Award".



Peter Klassen - Treasurer

Role: The Treasurer oversees and manages the Association’s financial matters. The Treasurer duties generally include:
  • Maintaining appropriate controls over the organizations finances including an annual budget, and appropriate records of receipts and expenditures.
  • Maintaining the Association’s membership list
  • Receiving and disbursing moneys of the Association.
  • Submitting financial reports to the Executive at each meeting
  • Preparing financial statements for the Annual General Meeting
  • Leading the creation and submission of any loan or grant applications for the association.

SCORRA History: Peter has been a SCORRA member for over 10 years. This is his third year on the Board. He's also on the Orr Lake Trail Team.
Nickname: Peter, Peter 4-Stroke Beater
Biography: Peter is 61 years old, going on 17! He loves to ride and race. Vet A XC racer, as well as a few motocross races every year. His ride is a YZ 250FX. First race was the 1981 Sasquatch XC in Hope, BC and have been racing every year since. Enjoys laying out and clearing new and existing trails, one of several responsible for the Orr Lake tract. Loves spirited romps and inpromptu races/chases thru tight, technical singletrack. Peter is an avid mountain biker, but don't try to keep up with him on an MTB, unless you want your legs to ache for days!



Dave Millier - Lead Steward

Role: The Lead Steward serves as the Associations primary contact for all matters pertaining to our trail system and trail agreements. The Lead Steward's duties include:
  • Acting as the Chair of the trail committee and presiding over all trail committee meetings
  • Acting as chair of the Stewardship committee and presiding over all Stewardship committee meetings.
  • Maintaining a record of all trail and stewardship activities and providing a quarterly submission to the County of Simcoe and to all municipal partners within the County of Simcoe regarding stewardship activities
  • Acting as primary representative of the association at various Trail User Group meetings and associations.
  • Providing direction and coordination to all efforts made by the Association to ensure compliance to the trail usage agreement with the County of Simcoe and any private use agreements.
  • Report to the Executive Board at the monthly executive meetings.
  • Providing advice and direction related to proper trail usage for the associations trail riding events

SCORRA History: Dave has been a past SCORRA board member and also the OFTR president for 6 years, so brings much depth and experience to the SCORRA board.
Nickname: Millicat
Biography: Dave is an avid off-road powersports enthusiast, discovering the sport about 14 years ago. Dave started out dirt biking and quickly fell in love. Seeing how important volunteers were to the success of continuing the sport, Dave joined the board of SCORRA. Eventually he joined the board of the OFTR, acting as their president for 6 years (now past president). Dave is currently the chairperson for the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada, representing on-road and off-road riders nationally. Dave is a certified instructor for the CanadaRides Dirt Bike School, the CASI training program for ATVs and a ROHVA instructor for side-by-sides.



Stuart Todd - Director at Large

Role: The Director at Large duties include:
  • Providing technical knowledge and advice
  • Participating on various committees formed by the executive as needed
  • Engaging current membership to solicit interest and improvements to the activities and events of the organization
  • Facilitating the organization of a special guest or event for each club meeting
Stuart is also heading up the Trail Development/Maintenance program:
  • Promoting the Adopt-A-Trail program
  • Supporting Trail Team Leads
  • Helping increase volunteers on individual Trail Teams

SCORRA History: This is Stuart's second year on the SCORRA board, and his expertise in the powersports industry is a most welcome addition.
Nickname: Stewie
Biography: Stuart got back into dirt biking 5 years ago and has ridden street bikes for 20+ years. Stuart actually grew up horse riding competitively and left for cruise ships in 2001. Moving from Wales in 2010 to Canada, Stuart started at Barrie Honda Powerhouse in 2012 and took over Operations in 2016. In 2018 Stuart and his team saw Barrie Honda Powerhouse become the #1 Motorcycle dealer for Honda in Canada, this has been due to the mass increase of dirt and competition bikes sales and also to their association with all the dirt biking clubs and associations. Wanting to talk the talk and walk the walk is important to Stuart so joining SCORRA's board and being involved directly is the correct move. Stuart enjoys selling dirt bikes to families and loves it when they realise how cool of a job SCORRA does with their trail inventory, difficulty levels and the beautiful scenery we share here in Simcoe County. If he’s not riding in Simcoe County you’ll find him at Motocamp brushing up on some skills and watching the next generation of dirt bikers learn to ride trail and track on the fleet of Honda bikes the camp runs. Stuart also sits as Co-Chair and Deputy Ride Captain for the Huronia Ride for Dad so if you traverse from dirt to street feel free to swing by and chat anytime. He currently rides a 2014 CRF 450X and will compete in a few Off Road Ontario races this year.



Steve Mumford - Director at Large & Trail Development/Maintenance

Role: The Director at Large duties include:
  • Providing technical knowledge and advice
  • Participating on various committees formed by the executive as needed
  • Engaging current membership to solicit interest and improvements to the activities and events of the organization
  • Facilitating the organization of a special guest or event for each club meeting
Steve is also heading up the Trail Development/Maintenance program:
  • Promoting the Adopt-A-Trail program
  • Supporting Trail Team Leads
  • Helping increase volunteers on individual Trail Teams
  • Quartermaster

SCORRA History: This is Steve's first year on the SCORRA board. We welcome the fresh ideas and new blood! Steve has been a member of SCORRA for 5 years. He joined SCORRA to enjoy the amazing trails in the Simcoe area. At a time when other parts of Ontario and Canada are losing places to ride, SCORRA continues to add more trails each year, which made Steve want to get involved and help fight for and develop areas to enjoy our sport. Steve's current trail bike is a Kawasaki KDX220, but we won't hold that against him!
Nickname: Five!
Biography: Steve has been riding motorcycles from the age of six years old. His first love is "Observed Trials" and he has been competing and organizing trials for over 35 years. gaining the provincial and Canadian chapionships in the the senior, senior 35 and senior 45 class's. As one of the original founders of the "Amateur Trials Association" he has been involved in developing the sport through promoting competion events, trials training programs and teaching. In addition, Steve enjoys vintage motocross, enduros and vintage trials, and when time permitts, he spends it riding his KTM Adventure bike.



Paul Anstey - Director at Large

Role: The Director at Large duties include:
  • Providing technical knowledge and advice
  • Participating on various committees formed by the executive as needed
  • Engaging current membership to solicit interest and improvements to the activities and events of the organization
  • Facilitating the organization of a special guest or event for each club meeting

SCORRA History: This is Paul's frist year on the SCORRA board. We welcome the fresh ideas and new blood! Paul first rode Scorra trails in May 2018 on a WR250R. He totally fell in love with trail riding and bought a Beta Xtrainer in 2019. He's looking forward to exporing more trails this season.
Nickname: Smallie Paulie
Biography: Paul has been riding his whole life. Dirt when he was small. Then street since he was 16. We're thrilled that he rediscovered his dirty side again, and realized that he's still "small"!
